Ice Dam Prevention

Don't Let Ice Dams Destroy Your Roof - Get Spray Foam Insulation Today

Ice dams form when heat escapes through your attic, melting snow on your roof. That water runs down and refreezes at the colder eaves, creating ice buildup that forces water under shingles and into your home. Proper spray foam insulation seals your attic, keeping warm air inside your living space so your roof stays cold and snow melts evenly — eliminating the conditions that cause ice dams.

Benefits for Northeast homeowners:

Stops heat loss that triggers ice dam formation during snow events
Prevents costly winter leak repairs caused by ice dam water damage
Provides year-round energy savings and prevents winter damage

Spray Foam Insulation

Open-Cell Spray Foam: Affordable Ice Dam Prevention for Your Attic

Open-cell spray foam expands to fill every crack, gap, and hard-to-reach void in your attic — creating an airtight seal that stops the heat loss responsible for ice dam formation. By preventing warm air from reaching your roof deck, open-cell insulation keeps your roof surface cold during winter storms, allowing snow to melt naturally without the dangerous refreeze cycle at your eaves. This flexible foam works perfectly with Rochester’s temperature extremes and seasonal roof movement.

Signs ice dams are damaging your roof:

Ice buildup along your eaves and gutters after snow events
Water stains on ceilings or walls near exterior walls after winter storms
Icicles hanging from gutters indicate melting snow is refreezing at the cold edge

Spray Foam Insulation

Closed-Cell Spray Foam: Maximum Ice Dam Protection & Roof Preservation

Closed-cell spray foam delivers R-7.4 per inch — the highest insulation value available to stop heat from escaping through your roof deck. This dense, rigid barrier creates an impenetrable thermal seal that eliminates the attic heat loss causing ice dams on Rochester roofs. Its moisture-resistant properties also protect your roof decking from the condensation damage that occurs when warm attic air meets cold winter temperatures. With closed-cell spray foam, your roof stays consistently cold during snow events, preventing the melt-refreeze cycle that backs water under shingles.

Why closed-cell stops ice dams better:

Delivers highest R-value per inch to block heat transfer through your roof deck
Acts as a moisture barrier, preventing condensation damage to roof structure
Strengthens roof structure while completely sealing against air leaks

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would use three words to describe my experience with Mr Giordano.
Polite. Prompt. Professional.
After calling three handyman services, (including the one that does a lot of advertising locally), and two roofing companies without success, Mr Giordano came over, gave me a quote and did the repair work in a little over a weeks time from start to finish, and the final bill was $20 dollars less than the original quote!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Giordano Roof Replacement & Restoration! They completed a full tear-off and roof replacement in just one day, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. The crew was professional, hardworking, and took great care to keep everything clean throughout the job. Their cleanup afterward was just as impressive—you’d hardly know they had been there.

Anthony, the owner, was personable, honest, and extremely fair. He took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel confident throughout the entire process. Their pricing was very competitive, and the quality of the work exceeded my expectations.

If you’re looking for a roofing company in the Rochester area, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Giordano Roof Replacement & Restoration!

He and his crew did a good job replacing our roof, cleaning up after the job, and fixing up our ceiling after the whole job was finished. Anthony personally installed our new soffit vents and worked long hours to make sure the job was finished in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to contact Anthony if I noticed any issues with the installation or if we needed more work done in the future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Anthony was hired to repair a leak over a bay window that had been repaired, re-roofed, re-repaired, yet still leaked. He was punctual, neat, thorough and we recently had two of the hardest rains in the history of Rochester. Nary a drop inside the house. This was a demontrably PERFECT repair.
